But you probably know her best as Lady Gaga.

Now, I know she seems a bit on the ...quirky side to say the least but that is what you get for judging a book by its cover.

Underneath the extravagant outfits and rambunctious hair is a woman who has not let her fame get to her head. I've listened to so many interviews and watched so many performances it is probably unbelievable. But what I've learned from her is what matters. She is all about being herself, no matter what others think of her. She stands up for what she believes is important or correct. When you watch her perform you see a genuine smile, she truly enjoys what she is doing. Her fans are her life, she lives to connect with them, to inspire them, and to give them music that doesn't suck. She puts all of her money back into her shows - to continue to please her fans.

Day 1

So in another attempt that is almost sure to fail I've begun another Project 365, this time with my boyfriend (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jwaegelin).

I've been eying the giraffe for a while, but it has always been in a really dark room and almost impossible to photograph since a flash would make it mirror like. My step-dad recently moved this giraffe along with its sibling to the ledge that is probably 12 foot above the ground, right near a giant window in the entry to the house. So I took the opportunity to get the shot today, since I'm a bit limited in my mobility.

Hooray Knee Injury?

Click the photo to jump to the flickr page

Comments / Suggestions

:)

its a photo life..

Woah - update? Exciting.

A while ago, my friend Andrew and I decided to try a Project 365. It has been a complete disaster but I'll still keep adding to it when I have time to take pictures. You can see them here, Like always, your criticism is welcome as long as it is constructive! I've got a couple of favorites, here is one of them:

Also, earlier this month was the FIRST Florida Regional and I was one of two event photographers. You can see the 1,038 pictures here

I feel that I've gotten a lot better at photography, mostly because I'm currently enrolled in Photography 1 at Valencia. It is a film course but I've defiantly learned a lot.

I'm looking forward to attending the FIRST Robotics Championship next month and I'll be fully equipped camera wise. So stay on the look out!

If anyone has any suggestions for a photoshoot go ahead and leave it in the comment.

This semester is going okay school wise, I could be doing better but I feel stretched too thin. I'll just leave it at that.

Epci Fail, VCC

Thank you, Valencia Community College for providing me with a piece of humor for today's entry. (Why can't all days have something interesting like this? It would make keeping up with this so much easier.) All of the other words on the floor were correct (That I've seen I think we might have to go on a paint screw up search.) I plan on submitting that picture to the fail blog, I'll let you know how that goes.

My math teacher epcially fails at time management, in the form that the past 3 classes have gotten out more than an hour early. Not that mind, the class is totally boring, but it is better than having to sit there for the full three hours. Hopefully I can keep my A, shouldn't be too hard right?

I did not have work again this morning. Yay. I work tomorrow morning! and Wednesday Morning Too! But I have Thursday off, the only thing I have is a doctors appt then I work Friday Saturday and Sunday night, that will give me a chance to finish my next 1/4 of homework for math.

Oh, and aerie said the one day I was supposed to work was Saturday night, I already told them I couldn't work that day. I have to go in Wednesday to pick up my schedule, so I'm hopefully gonna talk to the girl who makes it because I don't want to always say I can't work that shift.

Lets Think..

I'm not going to turn this into an entry with all my random thoughts. A lot of crap has happened in the past 24 hours, that I'm really unhappy with. The last entry defiantly summed it up the best and I'm not going to reiterate it again here.

I just need to think. Set priorities, figure out what I want to do. What's important? What can wait? What purchases should I make, should I be saving my money for latter? What happens if my reconsideration is still rejected? Where do I go from there? Should I possibly look at other places, all of which I won't be happy at? Or should I stick with my gut, and keep trying to get into Purdue?

There's just so much stuff I don't know the answers to, and I really don't have time to think. I don't like sitting and thinking on days I have other things to do (read: every day that isn't thursday.)

Oh, and I have to write a speech for Wednesday. On a culture/hobby/lifestyle. I have no idea what I want to do it on. This sucks, I might just go for my scapegoat topic, FIRST because it's easy but I don't want to 'cheat' myself because it's going to be an easy grade.

Though, my mom did make a good point last night. She told me she had no idea what was going on in my head when I applied to Purdue and thought they would accept me. I mean yeah, what WAS I thinking. My academic transcript from Florida Tech was horrible and no where near what Purdue wanted . I think I was hoping that they would review my different grades and notice that I got higher grades in my communications classes and that my highschool transcript was out.of.this.world. Oh well.

Sorry, I know I said I wouldn't think out loud tonight.

Well, shit.

That is basically the only way I can explain what's going on right now. Today just royally sucked.

Lets do a play by play - Get up late, rush a shower, get stuck behind slow people on the road. Clock in at exactly 7, do all the opening stuff. People come to work, realize we need to change fridges so we unloaded it and they changed it. Had to deal with mean couple again (but they checked out). Had to reload fridge. Then I had to make packets, then I went home.

Home..ah. My mom and I got into it a little bit because she 'jokingly' made a comment I didn't like. Then she gave me crap about not wanting to do anything I asked her insulted me yada yada. I got sick of it, it was a pretty bad night. So, I sit there. Think to myself. What could make tonight worse? Probably only finding out I didn't get into Purdue. So you know what I did? I logged into the online application check, and guess what. Denied. So I dealt with that. Called Adam, left him two voice mails, he finally called me back we talked for 02:24 where at the end I made him promise to call me back. He hasn't called me back. Needless to say this is going to be a backdated entry because I couldn't formulate this all last night and it's currently 7:30am and I'm at work.

Hopefully tomorrow (today) will be better.

The Internet likes to Nom

This crazy. It was totally uneventfull. They did however take all of our previous employeers information and were diligent about making sure the information was correct. I'm assuming it was because they wanted to speak to the employers. Well, I thought of this and I was talking to Pat, where I said, "watch they'll call while I'm working the desk at the resort." Long behold they did, but Sarah wasn't there so it wasn't as eventful as it could of been. Friday night at work was pretty interesting.

We had this couple from England check in and upon arrival, they were arguing with thier taxi driver since they didn't feel that it was appropriate to be charged 90 dollars to be driven from the airport. It is a far journey but they claimed the taxi driver got lost several times. After we sorted that out and got them checked in, they came back down to the office complaining that there was no complemetry food tray in thier room. They expected the room to come with tea and biscuits with all the fixings and I was like uhh I've never heard of this in my entire life.

Saturday was really boring, but I was still tired since I've been having trouble sleeping recently, I don't really know why either I just have been. It totally sucks, I promise. aerie did call me on saturday and asked if I could come in for orientation today, and that was about it. Saturday night was uneventful.

So now we're at today - Sunday. I got up at 6 to get to the mall for 8am. I did my new employee paperwork and all that fun stuff and we started training. We learned how to fold the different types of folds and how to hang undies and bras. The bra's and I don't get along.I can not hang them to save my life. We were given the instructions on how to give the information on the credit cards yada yada. So after work, I took my first oppertunity of being an American Eagle Outfitters employee lol. It was AMAZING. Then I drove home [ stopped for taco bell ] sat down for a bit, changed into my new outfit [wow, I just realized I dirted two sets of clothes in one day, oh well] and then headed out to Alhambra. I'm here till 10pm tonight. It is pushing on two hours since I got here, I'm gonna do some homework and hopefully something interesting will happen.

Wooo Hoo

So I promised an entry that was more interesting today. I pull up to order at 10:32, thinking that since I was here before 10:30, I would still be able to order breakfast. Nope. I was only a little ticked off, I landed up ordering the $1.00 sweet tea and a large fry. I was content with this until I saw that the lady in front of me had ordered and recived breakfast. That's when I got mad. So I pulled into a parking spot and had some tead and I was good to go.

The rest of the day got better =]

I went to the mall afterwords, first stop was aerie I got my a-list gift of the month and spent probbably an hour looking at things. As I was checking out the manager asked me where I was going to school and I told her Valencia, she then asked me if I was looking for a part time job, I told her yes but I have one job already, she said that was fine and handed me an application. I filled it out and handed it back to her, she asked me if I could come in tomorrow for an interview. Yay me :)

I went to American Eagle after that, where I saw my friend from HS. It was totally unexpected. But I haven't really seen him since he graduated so it was cool. I got a bunch of stuff from there (and aerie..). Overall it was a good shopping trip.

If I get 4 comments I'll post pictures ^.^

Oh Noes, the Internet

Today at work, we didn't have the internet. They looked pretty afterwords.

After work, I went to walmart. I hate it there, its so crowded. But I did talk to their photo studio again and left another call back card. I get friend requests at least once of week from people who's names are formatted in myspace way such as [[FIRST NAME]] [[LAST NAME]]] or FiRsT nAmE lAsT nAmE. Or they have a totally phoney name, but I know who they are. I've also started getting adds from people I have no idea who they are (I blame this on facebook's "who you may know).

It's just getting on my nerves, I moved to Facebook to get away from myspace and now it is showing up everywhere left and right. It created one especially to my phone AFTER I linked my blog to my phone. It is frustrating :( I'll probably try it again in a few days when I'm not groggy.

Groggy?

Yeah. My mom and Rick came home from Washington today, they got in pretty late for them, they went out to dinner afterwords. I passed out on the sofa around 7 and they came around 9. Now, here is where I'm confused. My mom has done this multiple times.

I fall asleep on the sofa, sometime in the evening and my mom finds me sometime later...and wakes me up. Why? To tell me to go to bed. I don't get it. Why won't she just let me sleep where I am? Well, needless to say every time she does it I can't go back to sleep afterwords and seeing as that I've already been up for almost two hours (9:15-10:55). Oh well, hopefully I can sleep sometime soon.

I'm feeling Speech-y

We had our first speechs today. I used to wear the patch when I was younger and it helped my eye muscles yada yada. But then I got to the point where I said, I don't want to do this anymore and stopped wearing it. (This also happened with my glasses I stopped wearing them for a period of about 3 years).Eventually my vision got worse and I went back to glasses shortly before I started FIRST. More recently, there was a need for me to cover my "good" eye and that is where I realized I could hardly see with my left one. My mother is currently in Washington (state) so I called her and told her and she told me to start wearing patches again.

So, hello eye patch!

Also, I've been abusing my Netflix privileges ^.^ I watched my DVD (Knocked Up) and then I watched an instant (Men in black). My mom came in today (she's only allowed to work something like 16 hours a week?) and she brought hard boiled eggs with her. She offered me one knowing my eating habits and well it was cold. I asked her if it was ok to microwave it and she said sure. So I put it in for 30 seconds wrapped in a paper towel and everything was fine and dandy. I let it sit for a minute because it was hot, I picked it up and began talking to everyone while shoving my nail into it to try and split it apart. BOOM. The egg literally made an explosion sound. Egg was everywhere, on the ceiling, on the floor, on the walls. It hit my neck and I have some burn marks but it is not too bad.

Story, number two.

I was home, cooking dinner with my mom and we were warming up some mash potatos; it was a plastic microwaveable container covered in plastic wrap. We put it in for 3 minutes then my mom told me to stir it so I took it down no problem, put it on the counter and lift up the plastic wrap. Big mistake. The steam immediatly wraps itself around my middle finger and it is still feeling burnt an hour later.

Today just wasn't my day. I'm getting sick on top of all of this.

Woah.

I'm apparently in 2 accelerated courses. Cool

I submitted my application to Purdue. Double Cool

I picked up a 5 shift week in September. Cool

I need gas in my car, I filled up last Thursday. NOT Cool

Ok, well this one is short, because nothing interesting really happened.

Oh, and why do my good adsense ads not excisit or are for some charity or something. She's a weird one. She is getting stronger as she stays on land, they're blaming it on Lake Okeechobee and the everglades. Oh well.

Valencia closed up everything today, but we don't start classes until Monday,. Good job VCC, good job. On the other hand, Florida Tech students still had class today, and the news is claiming that Brevard county was hit the worst.

Oh, and it's going to boomerang, to come back and hit North Florida & Panhandle, this after it grazed South Florida and Central Florida. I guess it just wants to make sure that everyone will have an equal change to experience it's crappy excuse for a storm. However, it might become a category 1 storm by the time it comes back - OH NOES.

In other news, my moms birthday party was Sunday, it was on the smaller side but of course I had my camera. I got some general party photos that, totally suck of course but as I was going through them, I found the one shown. I really like it for some reason but it seems to be hit or miss with the rest of the world.

I wish I could get a picture that most people with happy with, but I guess it's going to take awhile. Ever since I was little I loved being with a camera, and I still do today. Everyone has always told me I have an "eye" but what I think I lack is how to get the right composition of the photo. I've been doing a lot of reading online about it but I think it's something I need hands on experience with. Sure I go out to the movies, I go to work and I'm starting school soon, but there isn't much that I can reflect on.

I'm feeling trapped right now, too worried what others will think. Mainly referring to my Purdue application and photography.

My interests in photography have grown since I've left high school, but I'm feeling limited by my tools, if you know what I mean. I'm hoping to change that but I know I'm going to need a film SLR for college so I'm holding off on the big Canon 40D purchase. Mmmm DSLR.

In other news, I'm finally registered for Valencia. I'm taking Freshman Composition I, Drawing I, College Algebra and Fundamentals of Speech. Yay me =]. I'm a freshman all over again. And to think - Everyone thought I'd be the success story.

One more thing, I'm not Vloging any longer (Sorry Libby!) but it really wasn't me, I probably just wanted attention or something. Though I might make videos every once in a while.

I have to get ready to go to dinner at my moms fiance's place, so here is another short blog post.

You have no idea how much it bothers me that I have nothing to write about.

Home!

I moved back home today. Today I made my first video log, I got the idea after getting comfortable talking to a camera last night. Hooray making happy birthday videos :) Well here's the vlog:

One thing I did leave out was, that one kid had a box full of packing peanuts and he put it upside down on the desk, when she walked in she lifted it up and they went everywhere, she laughed and threw it away. It's not like I doodle nothing, it's also one of a few things. A desire for love, represented by drawing hearts or, lovey things. I also draw flowers a lot, growing up my dad always kept a decent flower garden in front of the house but lately it's crap and I just don't see flowers anymore, (hell, I haven't received flowers myself in over a year).

Today I drew something different, not to different but enough for me to notice. When I doodle it's not like I try and draw something, it just starts out as a bunch of lines that don't make sense then I'll emphasize some here and there and get something that looks like something, then I make it into something. Ok, so I drew a city looking thing...no big deal right? Wrong. It's been forever since I've been to a city and actually enjoyed it. Yeah, I went to NYC in December but that trip was anything but memorable. To start things off, it was Mullinax, Myself, Matt Krass and his at that time girlfriend. I was expecting a day of just running around the city seeing things...yeah, no. Mike, somehow magically injured his knee and then Krass was being creepy, he smelled really bad too. Oh well. But last time I went to the city was in my freshman year of high school, and it was with my family total blast.

I really want to go back to the city, and with a boyfriend. Just for the photo opportunities (ok so I'd need another person, details, details) and to see all the touristy sites. I guess by now you've come to realize that I'm a sucker for a good photo.

Yeah, I guess this works.

So, I'm single again, not that this blog ever knew that.

I'm really bad at this whole blogging thing, I haven't been a steady blogger ever since well..ever. This is her story.

It was probably about 11 years ago when some kids were beating up on this poor little stray cat, and my family at the time had two cats so being the cat lovers my parents were, they saved her from the kids who were picking on her. Shortly after we realized she was pregnant so we kept her and named her Sassy after the cat from Homeward Bound. . Now me being the naive 6 year old I was one night, thought she was throwing up on my bed. Yeah...not even close. She was in fact having her kittens. So she had three little kittens that we named Big Guy, ET and Speedy. Speedy was too much for us and we landed up giving him away to a family friend. When we moved to Florida we took her, her two kittens, another cat we found and the two cats we had previously with us. She lived perfectly fine until a point when I was in middle school. She had this really pretty off white fur, which for some reason started turning yellow. We took her to the vet and found out that she a problem with her liver, Sassy being my moms favorite cat, got immediate surgery which landed up costing us $2,000. She was fine, until apparently about two weeks ago, her fur had started turning yellow again and she would eat non stop, but only weighted about 4 pounds, and when they brought her to the vet, they told my parents that both livers were failing the only real option was to put her down. That apparently happened while I was at the Florida Regional, aka NEAR home. My mom said she didn't want to ruin my time but I would of at least liked to say good bye.

On top of this, I'm not doing so hot in my classes and I can't seem to focus on anything. I keep failing quiz's and tests even though I know the material and it's causing me to lose all confidence in most of my classes, causing me to slowly loose my grasp on things.

If you've been following this, you know Mike and I have been pretty good friends this year, so I wanna say it was the same day as my mom told me about my cat, he told me he's not returning to FIT next year.

This weekend was supposed to be amazing. Libby's mom said she was going to drive Libby up to FIT Saturday morning, let her stay the night and we'd meet half way on Sunday. We were supposed to have lunch with Wendy and Brittany and spend the rest of the day at the beach. Well it's defiantly not happening like that. Mike and I have to get up at the crack of dawn, meet Libby half way between here and Boca. Brittany wanted definite times that we couldn't give her so she went to Daytona Beach with her boyfriend, and we haven't heard back from Wendy since she had to cancel lunch and said she'd do dinner with us. That also looks like it wont happen since Libby's mom wants Libby back to Jupiter (MORE than half way back) by 5pm.

There is a hell of a lot more going on right now, I just don't have the time, heart or patience to write about all of it.

Om Nom Nom Robots

So, this whole update the blog actually somewhat regularly didn't really happen. I just don't have the time, ok thats a little bit of a lie. I'll sit there and think about doing it then get lazy and forget about it.

This past weekend was the Florida FIRST regional. It was a pretty decent event. There were a lot of bumps with volunteering on Thursday but Friday and Saturday went a lot better. I don't want to get into detail but it was just hectic. There was really good competition. It was a ton of fun.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jNsTr6AkIUw/R93PgSf9ECI/AAAAAAAAABg/hG1GX-DRB18/s320/IMG_7702.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5178523300174565410" />
I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a long long time or just haven't spent that much time with, period. It's hard when everyone lives in a different part of the country. Like, Koko Ed, he lives in Rochester NY and Wayne lives somewhere in Mass. Then there's Brittany who's going to UCF but lives in Ft. Lauderdale area for the rest of the time. There were a lot of great photos from the event. I have them all up on facebook so if you know the link, go check them out. There a little bit of robot action, some people, just the normal.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jNsTr6AkIUw/R93PtCf9EDI/AAAAAAAAABo/pcZzRSaNgXo/s320/IMG_7686.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5178523519217897522" />

One of my friends, Tim Arnold, his team won the Regional Chairmans award, which is the highest honor FIRST presents to a team. My team took home the web award this year. A little background information - I was on Team 1065 for high school, we submitted out first website last year, and won. Now I'm in college, mentoring a team, Team 2023, who took home the award this year. This seems to be a pretty good track record for me :) and an ego booster.

Psh, who needs power?

So I kinda never did the mega-awesome post as last promised mainly because UE ended. But now I have a reason too.

My friend Mike "I want to be 126 mentors" Bair- I mean, Mullinax has been getting really into this whole "I'm gonna be Tim Baird thing". So far he's purchased a "Tim Baird Hat" and "Tim Baird Safety Glasses" and now he coaches 2023. Oh, not to mention...his blog. Which, may or may not remind you of, oh, I don't know, Tim Baird's

So enough of Mike and his un-creativeness...

Today, we had a power outage. It sucked at first but then we had the genius idea to go out driving :-D. The guys landed up getting a model rocket, and kites, I got finger paints (that depressingly, remain un opened becuase I don't want to finger paint on my own). So we went out to this undeveloped area, that had random paved (and named, in Andrews GPS) roads and had some fun.

After we ran out of rocket engines we decided to test Andrews car. We found out it takes 18 seconds to get to 60. Weak. But then we took it, pseudo mudding which epically failed becuase his car has only a little bit of ground clearance.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jNsTr6AkIUw/R8T6MGGt-tI/AAAAAAAAABY/l0kD0uHMiDI/s320/IMG_7640.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5171533357832338130" />
Is a result of said mudding.

Well, now that Mike has a blog, this might actually see the light of day.

Ouchies?

So I got my ear pierced yesterday and it's kinda bugging me. Hopefully it wont be too bad for the healing process. I decided I wanted it over thanksgiving weekend becuase I was really bored just sitting around my moms condo and there wasn't much to do other than look up stuff online.

I did most of my Christmas shopping, got stuff for everyone but my dad and grandfather and saved about 21$ after using my favorite, www.retailmenot.com I always tend to forget to use it, but when I do it tends to work out.

Thanksgiving was ok I guess, it was just my mom, my grandfather and I. We had the typical foods just in smaller portions, then the next day I went to my dads house to visit and that was just a disaster. The cats are defiantly not happy, as soon as I walk in the door they're all like "OMG GIVE ME ATTN KTHNX".

I've got something in store for the blog next week. Should be pretty wicked awesome. If everything works out alright that is.

Oh, and heres one of my pics from of the dock, at the lake, by my moms house.

Pre-Birthday Weekend

This weekend was one of the best ones in a while. It still didn't top last weekend but it was up there. Friday started out really good, went to class then called Libby to see what was up with her arriving on campus, saw her for a little bit then had to do some WCRR DJing for the Chevy Show. After that we all piled into cars and headed over to my moms house. We had dinner, cake and then opened presents. I got a lot of cash then some weird items from seth/andrew (but that was expected) mike and bob gave me this monopoly game that doesn't use real cash and one of the pieces was a segway!!

Saturday was ok...we drove out to orlando to crash Robot Bootcamp, then went to the mall of mellenia then I had to drive from Orlando, to Ft Pierce, to Kissimmee becuase I had to drop off libby :(. After that we had dinner and kinda just chilled on the sofa's watching TV

Sunday was fun, we landed up going out to Old Town and doing Fun Spot, they have the best go kart tracks ever it was so fun. Then we went out for dippin' dots, which I haven't had in FOREVER so it was really nice to have them.

Monday, everyone left before I got up except for Mike so we just decided to go to the lake and takes some pictures before going to my dad. I'm really happy with the way some of them turned out (as shown below).

Awesome Weekend

So this weekend I went up to New Jersey to surprise Morgan and for Brunswick Eruption (another robotics event). It was just plain amazing. I don't even know where to begin.

The first day we waited for 25 to finish set up, then went to the Grease Trucks and then to some ice cream shop. We all then went back to our respected places of sleeping.

The next morning was the event, that ran untill about 730 with take down. During awards Roho decided it would be funny to zip tie myself and morgan together. Lets just say that ended with a short ambulance stay for morgan. After all that we went to blitzburger then to Alexa's house to watch Jhoom Baraba Jhoom (some indian movie, really good one)

The last day Morgan, Libby, Wayne and I Just kinda chilled at libbys house.

Over all it was a nice weekend. With almost 350 pictures.

http://fit.facebook.com/album.php?aid=164&l=8f5c1&id=1110990008
http://fit.facebook.com/album.php?aid=165&l=df6d1&id=1110990008
http://fit.facebook.com/album.php?aid=166&l=c8bc7&id=1110990008
http://fit.facebook.com/album.php?aid=167&l=fb6e5&id=1110990008
http://fit.facebook.com/album.php?aid=168&l=62704&id=1110990008
http://fit.facebook.com/album.php?aid=169&l=9a663&id=1110990008

More Robots?

So this weekend, Mike Bob and Andrew came back to Kissimmee with me. We were there from Friday night until Sunday night. It was fun I guess they saw my mom and grandfather again and bob and Andrew met my dad for the first time (poor souls). Friday we just kinda played some games and watched tv and hung out with my mom. they seem to like her so thats cool. Saturday....I'll go over Saturday later. Sunday was cool, we got up, ate, went back to sleep and then went to walmart to get Guitar Hero III. The walmart couldn't find them so we just went to best buy, then the loop just to hang out. I think it was cool but I don't think the guys enjoyed the shopping :).

There was another competition this Saturday but it was not as good as the last two I went to. This field was made of wood instead of renting the field from FIRST. They also picked a weekend called "Band Weekend" for the state of Florida, so a lot of the local teams could not attend because of the lack of members. Mike was the ref, I announced, andrew scored and bob did field reset. It was a really cool even though, we hand wrote the match algorithm and basically did everything our selfs, it wasn't bad because it was only one on one and then the finals were two on three. 1065 (my old team) and 945 won the event. 1592 386 425 came in second. So I was really proud of 1065 they actually won something this season :)

On another note, Im really struggling with Pro/E mainly because the GSA, you can't understand him, and he talks really fast and if you get stuck on something and ask for help, he does it for you. It really doesn't help at all. It's like the class is a joke. I have no idea what is going on and I have to try and watch him do it on the projector so I can try and do it on my own and not have him do it for me.

Another Launch

So I just got back from the shuttle launch and it was pretty amazing. Not much better than what I would see from home but it was really nice.

Homecoming this weekend went awesome. Well at least the dance did. It was defiantly worth it to spend 7 hours decorating.

Not much is really happening. FRC 2023's FTC team is working out pretty good. Andrew promised them cake if they could finalize a design by this week, I volunteered to bake it if south gate Mike will let us use his oven =]. He also challenged them to build their bot before him for another cake. We'll see what happens, I love baking cakes so this might work out swell. Though I prefer to make brownies but who cares.

Can I have another plate please? This one is getting kinda full...

Theres been a lot going on and I don't even know where to begin between the robotics meetings every week and events sometimes on weekends, oh and the random demo last Friday to the radio show tuesday nights and the weekly meetings. Can't forget RHA's weekly meetings and heading the decorating committee for the homecoming dance. I know it seems like a lot to take on and well yeah it is but I want to do it. It doesn't seem like school unless I'm in every organization possible and always being busy but it's hard now actually having friends that i see all the time, they are kind of slowing me down but I still love them all. So in like two weeks is Robot Rodeo and I'm gonna be playing a major part in that becuase the people who are running are worthless they have no idea what they are doing and they need my help badly. November 1st is going to be a concert that marc is flying for that's gonna amazing he's staying on campus for like 4 days so it's gonna pretty freakin' sweet. In like 20 days Libby is coming down and I just cant wait. "iicb bff tnp" (it is can be best friend for ever time now please?) she wants to tour FIT and then hang out at my house for the weekend so that'll be pretty cool too.

We keep trying to catch the rocket launches so far we've seen one and the last one we missed by a couple mintues we saw it on our way to the beach but it was a nice attempt.

My friend Rich left the other day for two years. We never really talked much but when we did it was really nice. I never did get the chance to meet him at the Championships last april and now it seems like I'll have to wait two years to finally meet him. Some of you are probably wondering why someone would just leave for two years but it's becuase he's going to be a Missionary since he's Mormon. I told him I'd write him letters so I'm gonna be doing that. He's a really cool kid I just hope he'll still remember me when he gets back.

I guess that's really all for now, this was kind of a really random blog entry but I just actually felt like writing for once.

^^ Me referring robots at Tempest n Tampa at USF

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://michellecelio.blogspot.com/2007/10/can-i-have-another-plate-please-this.html' title='Can I have another plate please? I just went a long for the ride becuase I needed ginerale (it's expensive apparently) and now im dead tired. I think I'm finally getting over the cold but I'm still always sleepy which has always been the case, even since 5th grade. Sunday we went to Kennedy space center and it was defiantly amazing. When we went on our tour we did the up close, we actually got to see the beginning of the rollover of Discovery from one of the storage buildings to the VAB which was pretty cool. Mike got some pictures of the orbiter, you can actually see the "Discovery" on the side of the shuttle and the "Pratt & Whitney" engine covers. It was amazing it was overall a pretty fun day. I bought nasa pants. They rock.

Until next week...

I've come to the conclusion...

that being sick SUCKS. Thus being sick I don't even know what to write. The past week has been "Wii Full" been out to at least 1am every night playing wii, it's amazing but I think it's lead to my sickness. Casino night was awesome it was really fun to set up everything. But it's nearing 1am...I have 9:30 class...and I feel like im dying, so it's a short entry this week folks.

Robots Robots Robots

So this week was pretty interesting, Wednesday we had a meeting with Palm Bay High School and thier robotics team, Team 2023. It was fun, but the mentor seems kind of up tight and we all agreed the way he's running the team isn't correct. But it's not really out place to say anything so we're going to let him run the team as he sees fit.

On Friday, after chem. Lab I drove to Orlando to pick up Marc from the airport, then drove back to Melbourne, where we then met up with Mike and Bob and maybe some others but I can’t quite remember hung out for a little bit then went to bed.

Saturday, we had to get up at <st1:time minute="30" hour="16">4:30</st1:time> in the morning to be able to get to Ft. Lauderdale on time (<st1:time minute="30" hour="19">7:30</st1:time>) the drive was long and boring but I had marc and mike in the car to keep me awake. So we arrived at Mission Mayhem right on time, and a little after I’m getting out the car I hear screamed across the parking lot “I-D-K MY B-F-F MICHELLE” and it’s Libby so we run over to each other after nearly tripping on the concrete spot dividers. It was great to see her, I haven’t seen her since IRI and ATL before that. Then like 3 min later, Tim (aka Timmers, Timrar) showed up and we attacked him with hugs to. Then we spent like 5 minutes wondering aimlessly through the hall ways trying to find where the robots were.

I got to ref the competition which was nice, Libby was on field reset so I didn’t get to see her much but we did get to hang out between matches and we had a lot of fun there was so many people there I didn’t know what to do it was just purely amazing it was like IRI and ATL thrown into a blender and shrunk. I loved the event.

There was a lot of pictures taken, and my favorites have to be the ones from when I was trying to leave and libby kept trying to grab me and it got to the point where I was in a ringer and we were duck tapped together because no one wanted to see us separated.

All in all it was a great weekend I could probably keep writing for a lot longer but I’m still recovering from the weekend and I’m tired.

Untill next time folks..

Libby & I setting up the field for the Awards

Here's a picture billfred took during lunch of Libby & I

99 Luft Balloons

So another week has come and pass, it was a pretty chill week though I was happy with it except for my quizzes in Chem and Pre-Calc I totally blanked out on them and wrote something that was kind of related, hopefully I will do better on the next batch of quizzes to make up for it, because I don’t plan on failing any classes anytime soon I haven’t before, I’m defiantly not going to start now.

Nothing too interesting happened last week, classes happened, homework was done. The weekend was pretty kick-ass though. Saturday…I don’t quite remember I don’t know why this whole weekend was defiantly a blur. I think I just stayed in the dorm Saturday night. Sunday, Mike, Andrew, Bob, Anthony and I went up to the second floor of the sub and played ping pong for a good 4 hours before the security came and said we had to leave which was understandable because it was <st1:time minute="0" hour="0">midnight</st1:time> but we were bored. So they all went back to their buildings and as I was walking down the hall to my dorm, I get called into another one of the girls’ dorm rooms, where they have this sheet tent set up, we stayed there until like 3 in the morning watching movies.

Today (well technically yesterday) was pretty fun, Bob, Alinee, Mike, Andrew and I were supposed to go to the beach at 10:30 but silly me didn’t get up till 10:30 but it was fun we stayed out there until about 1:30, came back to FIT then went out to hooters to grab some lunch. We came back, then the guys went out to radio shak then the rest of us went to Evans for some food, then played some ping pong…then…the laundry adventure began. It took us like 4 hours to do laundry. We seriously need more laundry machines in the quad it was just insane people were hamper camping machines which was totally not fair to those of us who used laundry view.

That was basically my week there wasn’t that much exciting stuff, maybe next week will be better =].

An Endeavor….

Before I left for college, I had the idea to start up another blog to add on to the several I’ve had over the years to half of which I can’t even remember the names too. Once orientation was over, we started classes and all freshmen have to take what they call University Experience; for our class, we had the option to email the professor once a week, or write a blog, so I decided I’m actually going to go through with my idea for another blog, but do this one on a weekly basis.
Orientation wasn’t really all that of what I expected, I mean it had some nice things, but some of them were way too full, or just didn’t catch my interest. Though, having T9 texting auto complete “panther” and “panties” was quite humorous (imagine, texting your friend “I’ll be back later panties prep meeting”). I didn’t really meet that many new people, I didn’t want to just go out there and be like, HELLO. I just started to get to know some of the girls on my floor, and then this one kid Mike, who lives over in Campbell.

Mike is an interesting fellow, he’s been in FIRST for five years, and that’s how we met well it was more on Facebook, he added me an I thought he was just another guy from FIT wanting 1,000,000,000 friends, until I saw the robot joystick in his profile picture so I decided to add him. It turns out that he was going to the off-season event I attended this past summer called The Indiana Robotics Invitational. It was a brief encounter but we planned to meet up at school later so it was nice to be able to put a name to the face.

The first week of classes wasn’t that bad, chemistry was killer, by that I mean getting into the material on the first day, that was just a shocker, well it wasn’t in-depth but it wasn’t your basic introduction day either. Basic writing skills also seems to be a nice class, though the book does seem to be a bit too simple (our first chapter basically told us that, we use sentences to convey speech, and these sentences are made up of words). I know I’m horrible at grammar and spelling, I have always admitted that but is there no intermediate class between comp and rhetoric and basic writing skills? They just seem to be a bit broad on each end of the spectrum.

Introduction to Mechanical Engineering seems to be a fun class, but the professor reminds me of a high up in FIRST, so it can be sort of distracting. I really hate to admit it but I’ve already messed up in this class once. The homework was posted on blackboard Wednesday evening, which was the night I went home to get more of my stuff, which then through me off for the next couple days, I mean I checked blackboard for mech-lab, but somehow checking the other blackboard course for mech slipped my mind. So today during class when we were asked to hand in our homework, I kinda had an WTF look on my face, after class I explained to the professor what happened and he said I could turn it in Thursday for 10% off, it made me feel a lot better but I defiantly want to do good in that class.

One of the things that threw me off last week was the calculus placement test, I totally bombed it just as I had expected, it was nothing like the placement test that I took online during the summer, that one was a piece of cake. So I got bumped from calculus to pre-calculus and then the next day I saw in PAWS that trig review was then dropped too, it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting to see but I guess I have to do what I have to do. I wish they would have re-tested everyone sooner than waiting for the first week of school because I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one who was throw off course by this disappointing news.

Other than that classes have been fine, today I went to inquire about the Enhanced Freshman Experience, it seems like something I should do to get back on track to graduate on time, plus I like the extra cash bonus.

Over the past week I’ve been to two organizations meetings, I went to the meeting for WCRR which seems like something I’m really going to be interested and then I went to the RHA bar-bee-que, that was nice expect for the fact that it rained, we all wrote our names down, then asked us to call us when the food was ready, meanwhile while they worked on the food we went back to Shaw. We decided that we were just going to chill out in the Shaw lounge and play some risk, but unfortunately Andrew didn’t have his risk country cards with him, he had left them at home..in PA so we deiced that we would assign the countries using D&D dice. The way we did it was that we would roll one dice, and that dice would represent the continent you had to roll again for, this dice would then represent the number country you would claim. It was fun but when we played, we all attacked Andrew so he was the first one out then we continued to play and then Anthony just decided to leave the game which left myself and Bob pretty much tied, and Mike with two or so counties left to his name. I was a fun day, then after all that jazz we all went down to the Olin building to do the chemistry homework, it was nice to be able to work with a group of people on homework for once.

Sunday was also an awesome day, Mike, Bob, Andrew and myself all went down to Applebee’s to meet with FIRST Robotics Competition Team 2023, which was a rookie last year but their high school is just down the road from FIT which means it’s going to be a prime spot to be able to mentor for the next season. I don’t want to get too involved in the team my first year at school but I want to get my shoes wet in the life of mentoring.

But back to life on campus, the food in Evans was good the first couple of days but now it’s like the same stuff everyday, I don’t really care for a lot of the things they have “in the back” as I call it so it’s always pasta, salad, burger and fries in some combination, all ended with the “ice cream” which, I’ve had literally everyday I’ve been here. I haven’t tried eating at the other places on campus yet but I’m just stingy with my flex cash (which so far has been used to buy starbucks, and potato skins).

The dorms are nice, there’s a couple things I don’t like about the rooms though, it doesn’t seem like they were properly cleaned in between the last semester people who lived here and our move in, also some of the dorms (mine included) have this weird what I’ve been told is a “3rd desk” which is really annoying because it basically makes it so we cant really rearrange the room. Other than those two things I’m fine with the dorms, other than the bathrooms, the bathrooms are a different story.

I’m sure there’s something I’m leaving out of this that I’ll think of at another time and place, which of course there will not be a computer anywhere in sight.

Until next week...
